The active ingredient is Imidacloprid, a relatively new, systemic insecticide that is highly effective whilst being soft on non-target predators such as hoverflies, spiders & predatory mites. Systemic insecticide means that the chemical is taken in by the plant through its leaves and is transported around the plant in the sap. Therefore any insect that chews the leaves or sucks the sap is controlled.
